The temps here in southern Manitoba have been in the -30 to -20 range for the last 9 days. I've had one on the railing of my rear deck for four years now. I don't know why you're having problems with the outside antenna. If you aren't hearing anything indoors then there almost certainly is no usable signal. Also, the signals are extremely weak after traveling around 40,000 Km from the satellite to your location. The satellite signal is in the microwave region and microwaves don't penetrate walls like the local AM and FM signals do. ![]()
